Unable to Upload SureForms ZIP: File Unzipped On Download

After purchasing your SureForms plans, if you find that the SureForms ZIP file unzips after you download it, this is usually due to Safari’s browser settings. This issue prevents you from uploading the plugin to WordPress, which needs the file in ZIP format.

To fix this, you need to change a setting in your browser. Follow the steps below for your specific browser:

Resolving the SureForms ZIP Issue On Safari Browser

To address the unzipped file issue on your Safari browser, follow these steps:

  1. Open your Safari browser.
  2. Go to Safari’s menu by navigating to Safari > Settings.
  3. In the “General tab”, uncheck the box that says Open “safe” files after downloading.

Now, go back to your SureForms store account and download the SureForms ZIP file again. It should download correctly.

Resolving the SureForms ZIP Issue On Firefox

To fix this issue on your Firefox browser:

  1. Click the Firefox menu (the Hamburger Icon in the top right corner) under Options > Applications or Search Applications.
  2. Under “Applications”, you should see a Search Bar. Here, search for ZIP.
  3. Besides the ZIP option, you will have to change the Action to Always Ask or Save File.

Once done, try downloading the SureForms ZIP file again from your Firefox browser.

Resolving the SureForms ZIP Issue On Chrome

By default, Chrome does not unzip files automatically, so you shouldn’t have any issues. However, if you do:

  1. Temporarily disable any extensions that might affect downloads.
  2. When you see the ZIP file unzipped in the “Downloads” section in Chrome, don’t click on it. Instead, go to your device’s downloads folder and use that ZIP file.

Other Browsers

If you use any other browsers, you may need to contact the support team for that browser for help on this issue.

Once you successfully get the SureForms ZIP file downloaded on your computer, you can install and activate it on your WordPress site easily.
