Set the “From Email” in SureForms
SureForms allows you to set a custom “From Email” address for each form notification. This helps make sure your form emails look more professional and reach your inbox instead of spam.
What is the “From Email”?
The From Email is the email address that shows up in the “From” section when someone receives a form notification. Instead of showing something like [email protected], you can now show your real email, like [email protected].
Why this matters:
Using a proper From Email improves trust, boosts deliverability, and helps users reply to the correct address.
How to Set the “From Email”?
Step 1: Click Email Notification
Step 2: Edit Notification
Step 3: Set the “From Email”
Scroll down to find the From Email field.
- Type in the email you want to send messages from.
- Example: [email protected]
Important Tip:
Use an email that matches your domain. Avoid using gmail.com, yahoo.com, etc., to prevent delivery issues.
Step 4: Save the Form
Click the WordPress Save button in the top-right corner.
Best Practices
- Use a business email like [email protected].
- Avoid free emails like @gmail.com (they often fail SPF/DKIM checks).
- If using SureEmail or another SMTP plugin, make sure the “From Email” matches your configured sender.
Troubleshooting Tips
If your form emails aren’t working as expected, here are some things to check:
- Are emails not sending at all?
Make sure an SMTP plugin (like SureEmail, WP Mail SMTP, etc.) is installed and properly configured. Without SMTP, emails may fail to send or land in spam. - Emails going to spam?
Set up SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records for your domain. These DNS records tell email services that your messages are legit and not spoofed. - “From Email” not being used?
Sometimes, web hosts or email services override the “From Email” you set in the form. This is often done to prevent spoofing. - SMTP plugin is forcing a sender address?
Check your SMTP plugin settings for an option like “Force From Email” or “Set the From Email globally”. If enabled, this will override the address you set in SureForms. You can disable this option if you want SureForms to control the “From Email” on a per-form basis.
